Great Play: itsAaron Second Season Continues Highlighting Wisconsin Non-Profits

Ok, so this is nowhere near new news, seeing as its the second 'season' of the project already and I am just getting around to it, but now is as good a time as any to give kudos to itsAaron, the charitable project of Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and local attorney David Gruber.

This is not a guy just looking for some good pr.
You've all seen the ads by now, teasers of Aaron Rodgers showing up at someone's door to surprise them with the message to visit itsAaron.com to see the rest. The ads are simple and don't convey much and to be honest til now I had never gone and visited the site and wondered how many had and thus how effective it was. Apparently they have been more effective than I thought since the campaign earned a regional Emmy award nomination from the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in the category of "Outstanding Achievement for Commercials – Campaign."

I expected the work on the site to be top notch even before the nomination but having finally visited it I am impressed and I get it now. Thinking back to those commercials it makes me respect Aaron more for not showing more on the commercials, for keeping it simple and not making it about him. In the full length videos of him visiting with people he seems very genuine and personable and definitely is not some pro athlete just showing up for some PR. He is doing to highlight the organizations and the type of people they help.

The project was created by the two prominent Wisconsin 'to create awareness for organizations and people who are changing the world.',  and ' is a reminder and an opportunity. It’s a reminder that each one of us can make a big difference in our community. It’s an opportunity to get involved. Be inspired. Be involved.' that sounds a lot like what we are trying to do here.

There are so many organizations out there doing good things that need help - sometimes just a little help - and another new organization may not help, but if people like Aaron and David, and we hope us here at GMM, can highlight and promote those worthy of it we can get others involved. That is our goal here - to let men know where and how they can help in ways that appeal to them - and we commend itsAaron for doing something similar.
