Milwaukee Movember Events

Image
It's that time of year again Mo Bros (and Mo Sistas) - time to take action to change the face of men's health - literally and figuratively. Men who participate in Movember (called Mo Bros) take action to change the face of men’s health by starting clean-shaven on Movember 1st and growing just a moustache (no beards, no goatees) for the month November. Movember is more than just an excuse to grow a fine piece of moustachery, it’s about creating conversations while raising funds and awareness for men’s health. It’s about having fun and doing good. In addition to general fundraising, many cities organize special events to promote and celebrate Movember, and Milwaukee throws down with the best of them. Here are all the events lined up for Milwaukee's 2014 Movember participation.

It's just over a week now til November. Annually across the US and the world, and here at GMM, that means moving from one gender's cancer to another's. Each year November is celebrated as Movember - when men grow moustaches in order to raise awareness and funds for men's health including prostate cancer. Kuhn in the process of getting shaved This year, Green Bay Packers fan favorite John Kuhn and Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Cancer Network are teaming up for “Green and Gold Movember,” a prostate cancer public awareness initiative encouraging men to grow out their facial hair during the month of November. Green and Gold Movember launched Oct. 21, 2014 when Kuhn, a two-time Super Bowl champion and Pro Bowl performer, shaved his trademark beard during a private kickoff event at Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Froedtert Hospital campus. Video of his shave can be seen at this story on WISN .

It seems its all about bikes for me lately. With Movember coming up, the Distinguished Gentleman's Ride isn't the only moto-related prostate cancer fundraiser. Hal’s Harley-Davidson is proud to support the Movember movement and changing the face of men’s health. They’re going to kick-off Movember a few weeks early by bringing in a special guest, Peter Starr, to share his story with you while raising funds for Prostate Cancer Education on Thursday, October 9th at 6pm.
