BloodCenter & Brewers Team Up

Once again, BloodCenter of Wisconsin and the Milwaukee Brewers are asking blood donors to step up to the plate and help save lives. This is becoming an annual thing and its a great way to give and get.

Now (from Aug. 1) through Sep. 1, blood donors will receive one terrace level ticket voucher redeemable for the Brewers game Monday, Sep. 11 vs. Pittsburgh or Tuesday, Sep. 26 vs. Cincinnati. Ticket vouchers are available to donors at all 10 of BloodCenter’s statewide donor centers, as well as select community blood drives, while supplies last.
As an added bonus, to rally ninth inning donations, when you donate blood at their Wauwatosa donor center, August 28-September 1, you will be entered in a raffle for exciting items, like 2 field-level tickets and batting practice to see Milwaukee at Miller Park.

Additionally, several donor centers will host a week-long tailgate experience. Donor centers will be decked out in Brewers décor and serve everyone’s favorite tailgate food. Donors will also receive “tailgate swag bags,” filled with coupons and other goodies. Participating donor centers include:

West Bend: Aug. 7 – 11
Greenfield: Aug. 14 – 18
Waukesha: Aug 21 – 25
Wauwatosa: Aug. 28 – Sep.  1
Tailgate food available between 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

This summer, blood donations have reached critically low levels, with O negative blood supplies hovering at one day or lower during most weeks. O negative blood is the universal blood type given to patients in emergencies and trauma situations. Donors are encouraged to participate in this August event to help save lives – as well as enjoy a day at the ballpark.

Anyone 16 or older who is in general good health and meets eligibility requirements is encouraged to donate blood. To schedule an appointment, call 1-877-BE-A-HERO or visit bcw.edu.
